Within the team we all have diverse skills that will enhance a young person’s time with us. We have a variety of staff who all bring their own personal experiences to Mon Ami which will enhance a young persons time with us
Our intention will always be genuine and positive in order that the young people are receptive to us. This enables us to ensure that the young people in our care receive the best possible support whilst they are with us. The type of support that allows them to explore their own personal journey whilst being guided and encouraged to be the best they can be.
We have unconditional positive regard towards the young people that shows respect and makes the young people feel valued. This allows the young person to be more receptive to what we are saying and to feel part of a nurturing environment.
A strong, authentic relationship is needed to promote resilience and secure attachments for the young people and promote a safe environment for them to thrive and develop whilst at Mon Ami.
Our Aim
Our aim is to help the children in our care to overcome the difficulties they have experienced in their young lives, addressing and supporting any behavioural problems they may present with, and preparing them for:
An eventual return to their family of origin where this is viable.
Integration into long-term foster care.
Long term care where other options are unavailable or where this best meets the child’s needs or wishes and feelings, or
Independent living and necessary life skills – including education, training or employment.
